Started the video lessons with a quick description and
example of how vector (can be scaled without losing resolution) vs raster
(cannot be scaled without losing resolution). Went over basic functions of
illustration including some handy shortcuts. Also reviewed tools and the
purpose such as the pen tool, fill and stroke. Overview of interface and where
the Illustrator panels are and what they do. Learned to use locking and hiding
to work more efficiently and to avoid selecting objects/layers that you do not
want to at that time. I learned the difference between directly selecting and
group selecting using both the direct select and group select arrow tools. I
also learned how to adjust objects and artwork using the tools at hand to make
my work efficient and productive. I now can alter my artwork in multiple ways
including grouping, shrinking and making larger and rotating clockwise and
counter-clockwise.
